I'm leading a paddle with Wilderness Inquiry in the north part of Minneapolis as a national park ranger for the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area. WI provides voyageur canoes, paddles and pfds and well take you on a paddle and picnic lunch that includes a stop on an island inhabited by a heron rookery. These are the herons that moved after the tornado ruined their other rookery at North Mississippi Regional Park. A pair of peregrines nest nearby and the island often has clues as to what they've been eating.
Sign up with Wilderness Inquiry, space is limited. Don't worry if you have no canoe experience, this is a great way to learn.
