As the Mississippi River starts to freeze up, many fishing ducks show up at the confluence with the St. Croix River. Point Douglas in Hastings can be full of common goldeneyes, trumpeter swans, common mergansers, and bald eagles. If we’re really lucky, we might spot rare birds like a Barrow’s goldeneye, long-tailed ducks, or harlequin ducks.
Come learn more about local waterfowl and take some neat pictures! This free event is open to birders of all abilities, no registration needed.
