This is a trip that is a partnership with Wilderness Inquiry and the National Park site I work for Mississippi National River and Recreation Area. We'll take voyageur canoes and paddle to a heron rookery on one of the islands on the Mississippi just north of downtown Minneapolis. We'll see the birds in the nest, explore what has fallen below and maybe get killer looks at the nearby peregrine falcons. Afterwards we'll paddle to Boom Island and eat our lunches.
